Tumor stage‐dependent downregulation of SATB1 by miR‐155 was reported in cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas.8 Overexpression of SATB1 has been reported in cutaneous anaplastic lymphoma driven by the SATB1 promoter methylation state.9, 29 These contrasting findings suggest a complex role for SATB1 depending on the microenvironment and hence a greater level of understanding is needed surrounding the normal expression of the chromatin organizer over different lymphocyte and tissue compartments before we can begin to understand the consequences of SATB1 dysregulation in human cancers. The gene discussed is SATB1; the disease is neoplasm.
