For example, the Mi Prostate Score (MiPS), which incorporates the prostate-specific TMPRSS2-ERG fusion and PCA3 transcripts in urine, in conjunction with serum PSA, delivers AUCs of 0.75 and 0.78 for detecting all PCa and high-grade PCa, respectively.35 However, the prognostic value of this combination has been questioned by others.36,37 Combining expression of three genes (HOXC6, TRD1, and DLX1) functionally implicated in PCa with serum PSA detected clinically significant disease (Gleason score greater than or equal to 7 on biopsy), with an AUC of 0.81.38 This evidence concerns the gene DLX1 and posterior cortical atrophy.
