As ANXA7 is one of the annexin family members that is upregulated in inflammatory myopathies (Probst-Cousin et al., 2004), thus, the upregulation of ANXA7 imply that HG feeding may trigger an inflammatory response in rumen epithelium, and this peculations corresponds well to the findings in our previous report that HG feeding caused local inflammation of the rumen epithelium (Liu et al., 2013). The gene discussed is ANXA7; the disease is myopathy.
