Complement factor C3, contactin-1, fibulin-1 and I-beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyl transferase were significantly lower, while neural cell adhesion molecule-2, fibrinogen, zinc-α-2-glycoprotein and haptoglobin levels were significantly higher in the POD vs. control group in their proteomic cohort after hip fracture surgery, but failed to demonstrate this in their validation cohort [32]. This evidence concerns the gene CNTN1 and bone fracture.
