In patients with oropharyngeal cancer receiving chemoradio- therapy, the balance of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines is disturbed in peripheral blood (by increasing IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-a content by 4-7.5 times) and immunoglobulins sIgA and IgA, which is a consequence of the development of the inflammatory process and compensatory reactions of the organism at the systemic and local level. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and oropharynx cancer.
