Previous reports indicate that two Wnt genes, FZD2 and FZD8, play roles in the metastasis-promoting epithelial–mesenchymal transition.43,44 Moreover, CSNK1A1 is recognised as a tumour suppressor gene, and its dysregulated gene expression-associated transcriptome very likely drives cancer progression.45,46 Considering those reports, downregulation of FZD2 and FZD8, in parallel with upregulation of CSNK1A1, might favor survival in GC patients; thus, these genes represent potential GC biomarkers. This evidence concerns the gene CSNK1A1 and gastric cancer.
