Our result showed that the alleles and genotypes of ADAM33 T2 (A vs. G: OR = 1.70, 95% CI = 1.33–2.17, P < 0.0001; AA+AG vs. GG: OR = 1.71, 95% CI = 1.33–2.21, P < 0.0001), Q1 (A vs. G: OR = 1.45, 95% CI = 1.01–2.07, P = 0.04; AA+AG vs. GG: OR = 1.58, 95% CI = 1.02–2.43, P = 0.04), and F + 1 (T vs. C: OR = 1.13: OR = 1.03–1.24, P = 0.01; TT + TC vs. CC: OR = 1.15: OR = 1.02–1.30, P = 0.02) variants were significantly associated with increased the asthma risk in Chinese asthma patients. This evidence concerns the gene ADAM33 and asthma.
