Fetuin-A has long been known to be involved in multifunctional activities, such as vascular calcification, bone mineral regulation, anti-inflammatory role, cell migration, etc. Therefore, Fetuin-A protein expression could represent a protection against several diseases: mineral bone disorder (MBD), cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and cancer [26,27,28]. This evidence concerns the gene AHSG and Marchiafava-Bignami disease.
