INS and Insulin resistance: After completion of the program, the 75-gram oral glucose challenge showed statistically significant decreases in both 2-hour (Fig 1B) and incremental insulin responses (34% [p = 0.002] and 15% [p = 0.022] respectively) concomitant with a significant 15% decrease in 2-hour C-peptide (p = 0.033) and trend towards a 19% decrease in 2-hour GLP-1 (p = 0.06;Table 3), together supporting reduced insulin resistance.
