Rare variants of Nap1 (NCKAP1) are also genetically linked to ASD and intellectual disability (Anazi et al., 2017, Iossifov et al., 2014, De Rubeis et al., 2014), providing further genetic support for a critical role of WRC-dependent actin regulatory pathways in neurodevelopmental disorders. Here, NCKAP1 is linked to neurodevelopmental disorder.
