Studies conducted by Gao et al. in England and Buckova et al. in the U.S. showed that the TT genotype was associated with the increase in the serum levels of CD14 and decrease in the serum levels of IgE in patients with allergic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis (20,21), eczema, or chronic urticaria. Here, CD14 is linked to allergic disease.
