The main results are: (1) the significant correlation between ccRCC aggressiveness and APLNR mRNA/protein expression, (2) characterisation of different APLNR-expressing compartments in tumour tissue (tumoural vessels and tumour cells) with opposite correlations to tumour aggressiveness, (3) evidence of independent prognostic role of APLNR expression regarding patient survival, (4) correlation with PD-L1 expression by tumour cells in ccRCC. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
