However, a trend towards an increased frequency of CD3+ CD4+ T cells expressing CD39 was observed on MS patients (Fig. 3b left; p = 0.069); when MS patients were grouped according to their treatment status, only treated MS patients showed a significantly higher frequency of CD39-expressing CD3+ CD4+ T cells than did the age- and sex-paired controls (Fig. 3b middle and right).
