MYBBP1A and neoplasm: This key role of MYBBP1A, together with the fact that it is located on chromosome 17p13.3, which loses heterozygosity (LOH) at high frequency (up to 50–80%) in many different malignancies, including sporadic breast and ovarian cancer, medulloblastomas, astrocytomas, osteosarcomas, leukemias, bladder, lung, and neuroectodermal tumors [12], could indicate that its main role is to act as a tumor suppressor.
