We have found in our previous reports that the upregulated expression of MCP-1 and CCR2 in monocytes of patients with severe OSA and monocytic MCP-1 and CCR2 gene expression can be activated under intermittent hypoxia which subsequently promotes the adhesion and chemotaxis of monocytes [18, 20]. This evidence concerns the gene CCR2 and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
