DAPK1, a positive mediator of gamma-interferon induced programmed cell death, was reported to be fully hypo-methylated or up-regulated in several types of cancer, including fistula associated mucinous type anal adenocarcinoma (Sen et al., 2010), nasopharyngeal carcinoma (Luo et al., 2011) and gastric cancer (Zhang et al., 2006). The gene discussed is DAPK1; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
