Importantly, some of the most rewired genes in iCells have never been associated with cancer before, e.g., CD300LD (an immune receptor protein) for breast cancer, NPIPA8 (a nuclear pore complex interacting protein) for prostate cancer, H6PD (a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) for lung cancer and PNMA6A (an antigen protein) for colorectal cancer. This evidence concerns the gene H6PD and breast carcinoma.
