ENA-78 is involved in platelet-dependent activation of monocytes, displays angiogenic properties, and has been implicated in many diseases (obesity, diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, subclinical atherosclerosis, acute coronary syndromes, ischemic stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and thrombosis) [15–19]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL5 and deep vein thrombosis.
