It has been shown that liver cells release a large amount of exosomes into the extracellular space and circulation.12 The release is influenced by disease conditions, including alcoholic liver disease, viral hepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.13 To determine whether mTORC1 activity modulates liver exosome release, we generated mice with hepatocyte‐specific mTORC1 activation by crossing TSC1flox/flox line with a transgenic line expressing cyclization recombination enzyme (CRE) under the albumin promoter (Alb‐Cre). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma.
