IL10 and type 1 diabetes mellitus: EVs generated by MSCs modulate T cell responses and limit pro‐inflammatory responses in type I diabetes.40 The modulation of postischaemic peripheral and cerebral immune responses through MSC‐EV delivery improves post‐stroke neuroregeneration.15 Consistent with previously reported observations that MSC‐derived EVs function similarly to MSCs by decreasing inflammatory cytokines and increasing anti‐inflammatory responses,41 hUCMSC‐EV treatment down‐regulated the pro‐inflammatory cytokines IL‐6 and IL‐1β and up‐regulated the anti‐inflammatory cytokine IL‐10 at the distal ends of nerve defects.
