In this study, we first confirmed that acute exposure to cold (24 h, 4 °C) markedly increased the phosphorylation of soluble tau in the hippocampus of old 3xTg-AD mice (pSer394/404: +87%; pSer202: +211%; pSer202/Thr205: +183%; pThr181: +49% vs. non-exposed mice) (Figure 3A–G). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
