BPI and Cryptococcal meningitis: The mRNAs (Figure 5A,C) for cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (CAMP), lactoferrin (LTF), OLR1, bactericidal/permeability‐increasing protein (BPI), cathepsin G (CTSG), peptidoglycan recognition protein 1 (PGLYRP1), arginase 1 (ARG1), olfactomedin 4 (OLFM4), and carcinoembryonic antigen‐related cell adhesion molecule 8 (CEACAM8,also known as CD66b) were found to be more highly expressed in cryptococcal meningitis patients than in healthy controls.
