Since PRMTs are responsible for the generation of ADMA, and that DDAHs and AGXT2 regulate its metabolism, the discovery of specific PRMT inhibitors, DDAHs agonists, and AGXT2 activators might aid in developing a therapeutic approach to lower ADMA and restore NO, and thereby prevent the development of hypertension and kidney disease for clinical translation.
