Amplification of the Met gene is identified in medulloblastoma, gastric and esophageal carcinomas, and non-small-cell lung (NSCL) carcinoma with acquired resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor, whereas activating mutations of MET are associated with sporadic papillary renal cancer, childhood hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric carcinoma6. This evidence concerns the gene MET and carcinoma of esophagus.
