In cardiac muscle, dantrolene inhibited RyR2-mediated diastolic Ca2+ release, decreasing frequencies and durations of aberrant Ca2+ sparks in cardiomyocytes modeling catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT)46 and cardiac failure models45,47. Here, RYR2 is linked to catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.
