Notable aspects in this respect are (i) the behavioral phenotype of Gnpat KO mice, as described here (Fig. 6); (ii) the proposed genetic link between ether lipid deficiency and autism spectrum disorders in humans (53,54); and (iii) the presence of clinical features of autism or hyperactivity in patients with milder representations of RCDP (54,55).
