CALCB and neoplasm: As we did not observe differences in density of tumor-associated blood vessels quantified by staining for murine CD31 in IHC of our xenograft experiments (Supplementary Fig. S7), we assume that the growth-promoting effect of the CALCB/RAMP1 axis is conferred via different mechanisms than one would expect from the vasodilatory effect of CALCB known from the literature39.
