Overall, BRCA1/2 mutation carriers present an increased risk for breast cancer (52–72% in BRCA1, 45–84% in BRCA2), ovarian cancer (39–63% in BRCA1, 11–27% in BRCA2), prostate cancer (3.4-fold increased risk in BRCA1, 8.6-fold increased risk in BRCA2), and pancreatic cancer (1–3% in BRCA1, 2–7% in BRCA2) [5,6,7,8,9].
