EGFR and small cell lung carcinoma: Interestingly, these drugs included current standard-of-care therapies for small-cell lung cancer (SCLC), doxorubicin, and topotecan, as well as anti-VEGFR therapies, regorafenib, and axitinib, both of which have shown promising clinical benefits in early stage clinical trials against advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) [49,50], and cabozantinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has shown efficacy along with, or in combination with, erlotinib in the treatment of EGFR wild-type NSCLC patients [51].
