Attempts to find out any possible association of G4 structures with genes reported to undergo epigenetic modifications in various cancer types, yielded evidence that several of these gene promoters exhibit potential G4 sequence (PG4), for example, hTERT [27], H19 [28], KRAS [29] BCL-2 [30], RET [31,32], PARP-1 [33,34]. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is cancer.
