HPSE and breast cancer: Currently, a list of oncogenic miRNAs is considered to be potential serological markers of OSCC.12 In breast cancer, miR‐1258 can target heparanase and subsequently inhibit cell aggressive phenotype.8 Similar results were observed in non‐small‐cell lung cancer and gastric cancer.6, 7 In addition, miR‐1258 was down‐regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma and inhibited liver cancer cell growth, proliferation and tumourigenicity through increasing cell cycle arrest in G0/G1 phase and promotes cell apoptosis.13 These data suggested that miR‐1258 functioned as tumour suppressor in cancer.
