As shown in Figure 3A, L. lactis IL-17 displayed a protective effect against tumor development at D28 (the end of the experiment) since 77% (5/22) of mice that had been administered L. lactis IL-17 developed tumors with a mean tumor size of ∼0.80 cm3 (Figure 3B) compared to 100% (22/22) of mice receiving L. lactis-wt control strain (mean tumor size of ∼1.2 cm3) (Figures 3A,B).
