Αs attested by Mann-Whitney U test, compared to controls, T2D patients expressed lower levels of CAPN10 tv3 [p = 0.0004, RQ levels (median; range) for T2D = 2.208 (0.313–12.43) and for CT = 3.924 (0.313–12.30), fold-change T2D vs. CT = 0.56] and of KCNQ1 tv1 [p = 0.0761, RQ levels (median; range) for T2D = 8.456 (2.880–16.93) and for CT = 9.408 (2.445–18.34), fold-change T2D vs. CT = 0.89] (Table 3 and Fig. 1C; upper row). This evidence concerns the gene CAPN10 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
