BRCA2 and breast cancer: Jonasson et al. reported that among 285 women with a founder Icelandic BRCA2 mutation, positive ER-status was associated with a greater risk of death, compared to negative ER status.10 In that study, after adjustment for other prognostic factors and treatments, women with a BRCA2 mutation had worse long-term survival compared to women without a BRCA2 mutation; this difference was mainly observed in women with ER-positive breast cancer.
