Goodwin et al. reported that for breast cancer patients that had taken adjuvant hormone therapy, women with a BRCA2 mutation had a higher risk of death compared to sporadic breast cancers (HR = 2.05; 95% CI 1.07–3.91; p = 0.03).2 In the current study, the use of tamoxifen did not significantly decrease the risk of death in women with ER-positive breast cancer (HR = 0.91; 95% CI 0.49–1.69, p = 0.76), in support of the findings of Jonasson et al. (2016) (HR = 1.03; 95% CI 0.41–2.60). Here, BRCA2 is linked to breast cancer.
