PTGS1 and Arterial thrombosis: Three classes of antithrombotic agents, including cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) inhibitor (aspirin), adenosine diphosphate (ADP) P2Y12 receptor antagonists (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, prasugrel, and ticagrelor), and glycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa inhibitors (abciximab, eptifibatide, and tirofiban), are currently approved for clinical events in patients undergoing arterial thrombosis [24–27].
