In this study we found that cell surface LAMR1 promoted binding of peripheral blood monocytes to laminin-1, an extracellular matrix protein produced by synovial fibroblasts and endothelial cells derived from patients with RA22 and this binding was significantly modulated by a key cytokine involved in the pathogenesis of RA, IFNγ. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
