Reduced bleeding has been observed in HHT patients who received TH as an antiangiogenic cancer therapy [22, 23]; TH treatment induced vessel maturation in an experimental model of HHT and reduced severe nosebleeds in six of the seven HHT patients studied [24]; and substantial improvements have been described in patients with other non HHT intestinal angiodysplasias treated with TH, when cessation of bleeding was associated with a reduction in serum VEGF levels [25, 26]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.
