The overexpression of lipid metabolism-related genes such as ATP-binding cassette transporter (ABCA1), acyl-coA synthetase long-chain family member 1 (ACSL1), 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 1 (AGPAT1) and stearoyl-CoA desaturase (Δ-9-desaturase) (SCD) has been proposed as a prognostic marker of stage II colorectal cancer (CRC) and is also called a ColoLipidGene signature [55]. This evidence concerns the gene ACSL1 and colorectal carcinoma.
