Pin1 is frequently up-regulated in various cancer cell types [120,121,122] whereas the E3-ubiquitin-ligase of RelA/p65 known as suppressor of cytokine signalling-1 (SOCS-1) [123] is down-regulated or mutated, all of which favours the constitutive activation of NF-κB in those cancers.
