Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is the most common gastrointestinal soft tissue malignancy.1 Approximately 85% of GISTs contain an activating mutation in the KIT proto‐oncogene, whereas 5%‐10% have a mutation in the gene encoding PDGFRA. 1, 2 Targeted molecular therapy has revolutionized the treatment of GIST and significantly improved the prognosis of GIST patients. Here, PDGFRA is linked to gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
