This change was accompanied by greater reductions in mean arterial blood pressure and plasma glucose.56 Recent genetic fine mapping linked the endothelin gene, EDN1, to multiple cardiovascular disease states, including coronary heart disease, coronary calcification, migraine headache, cervical artery dissection, fibromuscular dysplasia, and hypertension.57 In the CorMicA study,45 peripheral arterioles isolated from patients with INOCA had enhanced vasoconstriction in response to ET‐1 and the thromboxane agonist U46619 compared with vasoconstrictor responses from control subjects. This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and hypertensive disorder.
