The recent data suggest that S6K1 may be involved in the regulation of the motility of normal and malignant cells, as knockdown of p70S6K1 or inhibition of S6K1 kinase activity caused a significant decrease in the migration speed of the prostate, breast, and ovarian cancer cellsin vitro (Amaralet al., 2016;Ipet al., 2011). The gene discussed is RPS6KB1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
