RES is a well‐known activator of SIRT1 which was reported to inhibit proliferation and migration through SIRT1‐mediated posttranslational modification of PI3K/Akt signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma cells.27 Another report revealed that SIRT1 promotes EMT in colorectal cancer by regulating Fra‐1.28 Also Bylesl V et al have reported that SIRT1 induces EMT by cooperating with EMT transcription factors and enhances prostate cancer cell migration and metastasis.29 Thus, whether SIRT1 is a EMT promoting factor or suppressor needs to be further explored. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and prostate cancer.
