Recently, a cell-line based experiment indicates that knockdown of PIP4K2A in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) results in accumulation of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (i.e., CDKN1A and CDKN1B), G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis (Jude et al., 2015). Here, CDKN1A is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
