Interestingly, in both models, the integrin α7 single positive (CD133low/α7+) cells formed more spheres and exhibited more proliferation than the single positive CD133 cells (CD133high/α7−), suggesting that integrin α7 may be a bonafide GBM stem cell marker with potentially greater utility than even CD133 (Fig. 2G–J).
