To identify drug candidates that could reverse the AK4 gene expression profile as a therapeutic strategy to inhibit lung cancer metastasis, we queried a connectivity map using differentially expressed genes upon AK4 overexpression in CL1-0 cells and identified six structurally similar candidate drugs that showed the best enrichment scores, namely, proscillaridin, ouabain, digitoxigenin, digoxin, withaferin-A, and lanatoside-C (Fig. 6a). The gene discussed is AK4; the disease is lung cancer.
