We found that the SNP309GG genotype is significantly associated with an increased breast cancer risk in p53 negative patients, who harbour a functional p53 protein (OR, 1.82; 95% CI; 1.09–3.03; and p = 0.02), but not in p53 positive or unselected patients (Table 1 and Table 3), consistent with a previous report [50]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and breast carcinoma.
