In conclusion the rSm29 antigen was able to increase the in vitro expression of activation markers in MoDCs, the expression of regulatory molecules associated with CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes, and IL-10 levels in the supernatants of MoDCs co-cultured with lymphocytes, without increasing the susceptibility to infection of MoDCs by L. braziliensis.
