When the expression of CD27 and CCR4 was analyzed separately, the proportion of CD27− or CCR4+ within IFN-γ+CD4+ T-cells was significantly higher in active TB when compared with LTBI in response to PPD (p < 0.0001 for CD27− and p = 0.006 for CCR4+) or ESAT-6/CFP-10 recombinant proteins (p < 0.0001 for CD27−), with the exception of CCR4 marker in response to ESAT-6/CFP-10, where no statistical significance was obtained. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is tuberculosis.
