CD274 and neoplasm: Monoclonal antibodies (Abs) acting against programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) such as nivolumab and pembrolizumab are a class of drugs called immune checkpoint inhibitors that inhibit the interaction between PD-1 and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) and unleash an immune response to cancer in contrast with chemotherapies that exert direct cytotoxic effects on tumor cells.
